Bij navraag bij het Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt in München bleek het patentnummer D.G.R.M. 174052&174053 van de schaatsen op pootjes met de zwanenkop van schaatsenmaker E. Theil uit Remscheid te zijn. Het patent was in 1902 verstrekt.
