Johann Jacob Grothaus (1702-1793) was de oprichter van het bedrijf/handelshuis "Johann Jacob Grothaus" uit Remscheid. Zij waren verkoper van producten van de (klein)metaal fabrieken in Remscheid. Rond 1850 is er de "Jacob Grothaus, Eisen- und Stahlwaarenfabrik".
In 1920 fuseerde het met verkoper C.G. Sieben&Co.
